cur = run (跑)
  1. incur KK: [] (v.) 招致
    in (in) + cur (run)
    Ex. Should the president decide to run for reelection, he might incur the wrath of the people.

    總統若決定競選連任,可能招致民眾的忿怒。

  2. occur KK: [] (v.) 產生
    oc (ob) (toward) + cur (run)
    Ex. Full eclipses of the sun do not occur very often.

    日全蝕並不常常發生

  3. recur KK: [] (v.) 反覆發生
    re (again) + cur (run)
    Ex. Having fought in Vietnam, the veteran is afflicted with recur nightmares.

    這名老兵在越南打過仗,現在飽受反覆發生的惡夢折磨。

  4. courier KK: [] (n.) 信差
    cour (run) + ier (名詞字尾)
    Ex. Nowadays diplomatic courier serve more symbolic functions than carrying messages.

    喬叟的<坎特伯里故事>說的是一趟到坎特伯里大主教聖殿的朝聖之旅。

  4. archenemy KK: [] (n.) 頭號敵人
    arch (chief) + enemy (enemy)
    Ex. For the past half-century, Taiwan's archenemy has been Mainland China.

    五十年來,台灣的頭號敵人一直是中國大陸。
