Antarctica, the world's only continent without a native human population, is a land like no other. It is a place that has never seen war, where the environment enjoys full protection and where scientific research takes priority. Yet many see the pristine, icy land as the world's last great frontier, ripe for commercial development.

Adam: Did you watch that special program on Antarctica last night?Beth: I sure did, and it appalls me that people want to exploit such a unique continent! For the environment's sake, we should leave Antarctica's unspoiled land the way it is.
